UAM Cut-Off Mark 2023/2024

The Federal University of Agriculture, Makurdi (FUAM), also known as Joseph Sarwuan Tarka University, has not yet announced its cut-off mark for the 2023/2024 admission session. Based on the previous year’s cut-off mark, it is expected to be 150 for some courses.

However, the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced its cut-off mark for the 2023/2024 admission screening exercise to be 140. This means that candidates who score 140 or above in their UTME are eligible to apply for admission to FUAM.

In addition to the UTME cut-off mark, FUAM also has departmental cut-off marks. These are the minimum scores that candidates must score in their UTME and screening exercise to be eligible for admission to a particular department.

The departmental cut-off marks for FUAM are usually released after the post-UTME screening exercise. However, based on the previous year’s departmental cut-off marks, the following are the expected cut-off marks for some popular departments in FUAM for the 2023/2024 admission session:

  • Agriculture Economics: 160
  • Agric. Ext. & Rural Development: 160
  • Crop Production: 150
  • Crop & Environmental Protection: 150
  • Plant Breeding & Seed Science: 150
  • Soil Science: 150
  • Animal Breeding & Physiology: 150

It is important to note that these are just expected cut-off marks. The actual cut-off marks for the 2023/2024 admission session will be announced by FUAM after the post-UTME screening exercise.

How to Increase Your Chances of Admission to FUAM

There are a few things you can do to increase your chances of admission to FUAM:

  • Score high in your UTME and post-UTME screening exercise.
  • Choose the right course and department.
  • Meet the departmental cut-off mark for your chosen course.
  • Have a good O’level result.
  • Participate in extracurricular activities.
  • Write a good personal statement.
