Hope Uzodinma Early Life

Hope Uzodinma was born on December 12, 1962, in Omuma, Imo State, Nigeria. He is the sixth of ten children born to Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Uzodinma. His father was a teacher and his mother was a trader.

Uzodinma attended St. Thomas Aquinas Secondary School, Omuma, where he obtained his West African School Certificate (WASC) in 1978. He then proceeded to Imo State University, Uturu, where he studied Mechanical Engineering. He graduated with a Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) degree in 1983.

After graduating from Imo State University, Uzodinma went on to obtain a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from the Enugu State University of Science and Technology (ESUT) in 1986. He also holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Business Administration from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN).

Hope Uzodinma Career

Uzodinma began his career as a lecturer at the Federal Polytechnic, Nekede, Owerri, Imo State. He later went into private business and established several successful companies, including Global Oil and Gas Limited, and Concord Oil and Gas Limited.

In 2015, Uzodinma entered politics and contested for the governorship of Imo State on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC). He lost the election to Rochas Okorocha of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).

In 2019, Uzodinma contested for the governorship of Imo State again, this time on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). He won the election and was sworn in as Governor of Imo State on January 15, 2020.
