Solomon Adeola was born on 10th of August 1965 in Ishaga-Orile, Agege Local Government Area of Lagos State, Nigeria. He is the son of Alhaji Sikiru Adeola and Alhaja Aminat Adeola.

Solomon Adeola began his career as a banker with the defunct Allied Bank of Nigeria Plc in 1988. He rose through the ranks to become the Branch Manager of the bank’s Ikeja branch in 1993. In 1994, he was appointed the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of First City Monument Bank (FCMB) Plc. He left FCMB in 2006 to join Guaranty Trust Bank (GTB) Plc as the Executive Director, Corporate Banking. In 2009, he was appointed the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of GTB Plc.

Solomon Adeola began his political career in 2007 when he contested for the Lagos State House of Assembly seat for Agege Constituency I under the platform of the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN). He won the election and served in the Lagos State House of Assembly from 2007 to 2011. In 2011, he contested for the Lagos West Senatorial District seat in the Nigerian Senate under the platform of the ACN. He won the election and has been serving in the Nigerian Senate since then.
