Rotimi Akeredolu was born on October 21, 1956, in Owo, Ondo State, Nigeria. He is the son of the late Reverend Canon Elijah Akeredolu, a renowned Anglican priest, and Lady Evangeline Akeredolu, a successful businesswoman.

Akeredolu attended St. Andrew’s College, Oyo, and Loyola College, Ibadan, for his secondary education.
