Will Apple cancel WWDC 2020 due to coronavirus?

Unfortunately, this 2020 did not start in the best way due to the coronavirus epidemic, which also arrived in our country. Because of this, the first major international event to be canceled was the MWC 2020 in Barcelona, followed by Facebook’s F8 Developers Conference. What will become of WWDC 2020?

At present we know that the WWDC 2020 it should be held, like every year, in June and Apple usually takes advantage of the spring event, which should be held in late March, to announce WWDC dates. For this reason, the Cupertino company may still have some time for decide what to do, hoping that things will turn for the better.

Apple, at the moment, does not seem in favor of changing the dates, perhaps moving the whole thing for a few weeks or months, as the first beta versions of the new software are released to developers at WWDC, and it is a time that must be absolutely respected so that you can get ready when the stable versions of the new operating systems are released.

Probably the ideal solution would be to organize one Virtual WWDC for this year and, if so, make the experience more inclusive for everyone by offering everything remotely. Apple may even use group FaceTime calls for some developer sessions, while the keynote may be streamed from the Steve Jobs Theater.

What do you think about it? Would it be a wise decision to cancel WWDC or keep it virtual? Let us know your opinion with a comment below.
