Sony closed 2019 with an unexpected increase in sales in the smartphone sector, and was preparing to embellish the beginning of 2020 with the presentation of some new smartphones at the MWC; the event was canceled for the sadly known reason of the coronavirus, but Sony plans to hold a dedicated event on February 24th in which it should be revealed Sony Xperia 1.1.
Sony’s new smartphone is still a mystery in many places, but the Sony Xperia 1.1 camera the many fans of the brand may not be disappointed; after all, nothing less can be expected from the Japanese company, manufacturer of the vast majority of sensors that are mounted on smartphones.
Camera or better, cameras: 5 sensors will be present on Sony Xperia 1.1, with a set up as follows:
- 12 MP 1 / 1.5 inches
- 64 MP 1 / 1.7 inches
- 2 MP ToF
- 12 MP 1 / 3.4 inch ultra wide angle
- a retractable front camera and OIS
The main sensor is the one that Samsung has mounted on the new Samsung Galaxy S20 and Galaxy S20 Plus, called IMX555. Not only cameras, however, because Sony Xperia 1.1 should also count on the latest processor produced by Qualcomm, it is Snapdragon 865.
During this event, Sony is also expected to present a new mid-range smartphone, called Sony Xperia 5 Plus. All that remains is to wait a few more days to see what Sony will get out of the hat.
