Apple invites employees to work from home

With the coronavirus continuing to spread in Santa Clara county, where many of Apple’s corporate offices are located, the company has asked employees in the area to work from home starting today.

As reported by Bloomberg, Apple asked employees to work from home as an “additional precaution” compared to other measures taken to date. At the moment it is only a recommendation and not an obligation, among other things sent only to those people who can and are able to do their work away from the office.

This request comes a few hours after the Santa Clara county invitation to avoid important meetings and events in cities such as Cupertino, Palo Alto, Mountain View and San Jose, just to avoid the risk of infection.

At present, there are 20 known cases across the county Coronavirus. At the moment, it is not yet clear what Apple plans to do with the WWDC, which normally takes place in June in San Jose. In recent years, Apple has announced the dates of this event in mid-March, so in a few weeks we should know more.
